The president can be held accountable for lying to the general public, but booze companies cannot be, nor should they be. The driver will input your year of birth into their device and may then require an ID check to complete the age verification process. I love this bottle and I always love to share it with friends, especially my friends who "don't like scotch". We recommend that you do not rely solely on the information presented here and that you always read labels, warnings, and directions before using or consuming a product.

While I may drink a sherry once in a while I usually find it too sickly sweet, and this whisky strikes a good balance between those sweet funky raisin sherry notes and a deep woody flavour that keeps the whole thing nicely grounded. Tasting Procedure: Whisky was poured into a cold-water rinsed Glencairn, and set out for about 25 minutes. Matured in the finest Spanish Oloroso sherry casks, this sublime richly sherried malt is truly unforgettable.

The impact on the palate is rich and powerful yet smooth and creamy with a long aftertaste of spice and dark chocolate. The Highlander was matured completely in Oloroso sherry casks, and was originally released in 2009 following the distillery changing hands back in 2008.It is a stunning good whisky, not only to my palate but everyone who tasted it and many are fussy with their whiskies. On the nose you have strong sherry, dark fruits of plums and raisins, cinnamon spice and dark cocoa.

This is something that I would drink all the time if I could, and I would highly recommend to others. This exquisite single malt whisky offers a symphony of flavours, richly infused with fruity, sherried notes that dance on the palate. For example, the 12-year-old Original was first released in 2009, so should’ve been at least partly distilled in 1997. Would love to try the later ones to see if they still have a good proportion of the much older spirit in there. Our traditional wooden washbacks, a copper mash tun and distinctive saxophone-shaped stills help to create The GlenDronach’s elegant, complex character with tremendous depth of taste. At that time, they announced a new style for the distillery flagship 12-year-old bottling, which was released in 2009.

The mouthfeel is exquisite with the sherry helping to entirely coat ones palate in sweet, dried fruit flavors alongside a mellow vanilla from the oak. The Oloroso sherry flavours of toasted nuts, dried fruits, walnut skins, orange oil and - amazingly - even red fruits are so beautifully balanced that we can sit and enjoy a glass for hours. Taste: Thick mouthfeel with big notes of coffee and mocha, but also dark chocolate, some nutmeg and a pinch of black pepper. On the fruitier side, the pineapple from the nose is gone but it is replaced with red apple and dates. The GlenDronach distillery, established in 1826, is located in the Forgue valley, near Huntly, Aberdeenshire and is named after the source its water; the Dronac burn. Matured in the finest Spanish Oloroso sherry casks and bottled at 46%, this sublime richly sherried malt is truly unforgettable. For years, i have been looking for a replacement for the old favourite, which i remember mostly for its brown sugar and caramel toffee aftertaste.
