Description

All the scenic routes are clearly highlighted, and the maps show huge numbers of places to visit including beaches, theme parks, national parks and World Heritage Sites. The Michelin has more detail, indicates the width of roads, and shows which roads are scenic and which places are of tourist interest.

I get new 300 series map of a region about every 4-5 years because they build new roads (mainly freeways). There are just so many roads in France I've used an atlas style map (Collins I think) for main roads / motorways to get me to the destination area and then used a detailed local map.The encryption keys are held on state-of-the-art, tamper proof systems in the same family as those used to secure VeriSign's Global Root certificate, making them all but impossible to extract.

The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 (formerly the Distance Selling Regulations) provide consumers with the right to a 'cooling-off' period to allow you to change your mind. It is large scale so is excellent for the roads, but also for touring it includes geographical features and a lot of information for exploring interesting sites.

They don't easily fold to a convenient size for the area of interest and are difficult to get back to their original compact shape.

Couple of years ago I picked up a very good atlas of Spain/Portugal from a Spanish Lidl, far better than the Michelin map. Michelin mapping is great if you require detailed information to allow you to make an informed choice while navigating your route. While it is true you only need a map of these areas when you are there, reaching them will really require more resources. I prefer the IGN - the French National Geographic or whatever organization - maps are akin to Ordnance Survey Maps in the U. Just out of interest, one of the most useful atlasses i still use is a Michelin French Autoroutes atlas which they unfortunately stopped publishing a few years ago.The maps highlight towns with low-emission zones and show motorway rest/parking areas, not forgetting handy listings of top sites to visit and useful ski resort information. New for 2024, this specialist easy-to-read A4 road atlas is designed for the British motorist in France. Michelin's route planner as well as the time and distance charts will help you plan and optimise your journey. It is a very large scale, 1cm to 2km which does mean a long journey covers several pages but it does seem to have nearly every village so finding aires in smaller places is easier.
