We live in a two-bedroom flat, so I can usually hear my baby crying wherever I am in relation to the nursery anyway. It’s easy to move around and would be fairly compact if you were packing it to take away on a trip as well. I would recommend this monitor as long as you have another device that handles lights and lullabies, if they are must-haves for your baby’s nursery.

A large screen, clear night vision, temperature sensor, talkback button, auto activate noise sensors and USB-C charging all make for a super-impressive baby monitor – whether you’re using at home or away. Also, if your little one gets hold of it then you needn’t worry too much about mucky hands or even the odd drop to the floor. The push-to-talk button is another decent feature that lets you speak into the monitor and have the voice come on at the camera end where the baby can hear you. The noise-activated screen setting turns the screen on only if there is a louder, close-range sound. The temperature on my Baby Monitor is different to my temperate guage, is there a problem with my monitor?

Drill holes to the same depth as the wall plugs and insert suitable wall plugs for the type of wall. As this product meets EU standards, it can be used within EU countries only, but please be aware that the warranty of this product is only valid in the UK or Ireland and replacement parts cannot be dispatched to your address. BT have scaled back on the large choice of lullabies and the light show, making it disappointing as a settling and soothing aid, but it performs well as a baby monitor with its large screen size and clear sound. If the camera image is not displaying, try switching both Baby and Parent units off and trying again.

Always check there are no wires, pipes or obstructions in the wall where you intend to fix the screws. If it’s important to you that you can see your baby when you’re away from home, the app connectivity would be a must. The most prominent feature of the 6000 unit – over the 5000 or 3000, for example – is that 5-inch screen. The two-way communication talk-back feature allows you to always be connected with your little one and speak to them directly through the monitor to help calm any worries. The talkback function works well, however my baby is not particularly settled just by hearing my voice as he likes to see me and be held by me.

The side of the display does feature a red light if the battery is low, a blue light when it’s charging and a green light to show the camera is connected. There’s no shortage of features including sound sensors, auto night vision, a push-to-talk system, and that big display.To help soothe your little one, it also has integrated five different lullabies and a night vision feature that ensures you can keep check on them even when the lights are down. The Parent unit may be out of range of the baby unit; if this is the case, the parent unit will beep to let you know. display on the parent unit is conveniently portable, allowing you to move freely around your home while still keeping a watchful eye on your baby. I’ve precariously balanced mine on the side of the cot, but it sometimes moves as my baby moved so this isn’t a solution.

When it comes to creating wireless devices with good range, BT has been at it for years with home phones. Selecting a lullaby and a volume level, panning and tilting the camera, setting a reminder and switching to standby mode are all a doddle.

Down the side of the screen are a series of lights that will indicate if sound is detected, going from green to red as it gets louder.
